Hyatt Gift Cards
BACKGROUND
Hyatt has taken another step in its ongoing commitment to provide its clients with outstanding convenience and service. The company recently introduced its new Hyatt Gift Card® program. The gift cards, which can be purchased for a specific dollar amount up to $500, can be spent towards a variety of services at participating Hyatt Hotels & Resorts in the U.S., Caribbean and Canada.
In order to implement the gift card program, Hyatt’s property management systems needed to be modified to process the new payment method. This involved all of the point-of-sale systems located within each property including the hotels, spas, restaurants and shops.
SOLUTION
Given its proven experience and long history of working with Hyatt’s property management systems, SWC Technology Partners was brought in to design and develop the system enhancements and the new interface required to handle the gift card processing via a third party company. Particular attention was paid to the processing requirements and the many points of integration where the system would need to support the new payment option. Hyatt’s goal was to introduce the new gift cards for the 2005 holiday season, which translated into a very aggressive timeline for the project team. SWC met its delivery milestones and ensured that the system enhancements were developed, tested and deployed on schedule.
SUCCESS
The gift card program was introduced in Fall 2005 and has received rave reviews by customers and employees alike. The new system is fast and reliable, providing Hyatt customers with a new easy-to-use payment option. Since its inception in 1980, SWC Technology Partners has earned a solid reputation as a leading technology solutions provider dedicated to helping clients achieve superior business results through the innovative and effective use of technology.
