BACKGROUND

In many ways this Microsoft success story is not about a single great piece of software, but rather how a collection of products can be seamlessly integrated to provide a powerful technology platform.

Serving the Midwest business community for over 25 years, many of SWC Technology Partners’ customers are midmarket operations driven by tremendous IT requirements. In 2007, SWC was awarded the Microsoft Central Region Partner of the Year for Loyalty from a pool of approximately 18,000 candidates. This honor was bestowed upon the company to signify its commitment and excellence in delivering the Microsoft platform. In addition to receiving a partner of the year award, SWC has received multiple, quarterly Microsoft awards for work performed in the field.

PROVIDING UNMATCHED BENEFITS TO CUSTOMERS
The relationship SWC has with Microsoft benefits their customers in a number of ways. SWC has developed several technology competencies in the Microsoft platform, qualifying them to participate in various early release programs. As an example, SWC was a part of the 2007 Microsoft Office SharePoint® Server (MOSS) Rapid Deployment Program. In this role, SWC worked with Microsoft to test and deploy the MOSS platform in a series of beta environments. This experience provided SWC with a unique and profound view into the product’s design and capabilities. Today SWC uses this expertise to deploy some of the most sophisticated SharePoint environments in the midmarket.

In addition to the SharePoint platform, SWC has dedicated relationships with Microsoft’s Business Intelligence, Performance Management and CRM product groups. Often these relationships provide SWC’s customers with the insight and assurances necessary to commit to a particular business or technology strategy. As an example, technologies such as Microsoft PerformancePoint™ Server can present a powerful monitoring, analysis and planning solution. Developing such a solution is a significant investment, and in some cases, a proof-of-concept is required to measure the scope of investment and that investment’s return. Through the Microsoft relationship, SWC facilitates many proof-of-concepts in a time and cost effective manner.

In 2007, SWC and Microsoft collaborated on the design, deployment and management of over 300 midmarket organizations. In many of these environments, SWC consultants worked with Microsoft technologies including SQL Server® 2005, SharePoint, PerformancePoint, Office Communications Server, CRM, Windows Server and Systems Center. For some projects, SWC provided significant application development services utilizing Microsoft’s Visual Studio® to design Microsoft .Net based solutions. And, in all cases, SWC ensured that the Microsoft solution delivered solved the business challenge at hand.
