SWC Recognizes Employee Contribution
The term “company culture” is a buzzword used in today’s job market to describe how supportive, motivational and fun it is to work at any given company. According to Glassdoor, company culture is among the top five factors people consider when searching for a new job. Salary, title and responsibilities are still important, but today’s job seekers are looking for more than just a place to clock in. They want to know that their time and effort is going to make a positive impact, and that the company recognizes and appreciates all their hard work.
SWC understands that in order to attract and keep the best talent, we need to make sure they know how much we appreciate them. Regardless of your title or level within the company, every employee at SWC is encouraged and supported in a way that ensures their success. Although we do like to splurge on celebrations and gifts for our employees when the occasion calls for it, it’s also the simple “Hey, good job, thanks!” that can go a long way.
While many companies will say they appreciate their employees, it’s another thing to show it. SWC has worked hard to reinforce the type of culture that emphasizes a genuine appreciation for the people that make the company great, and we do this in a number of ways.
Team Members of the Month
Each month, staff nominates employees for Team Members of the Month, recognizing their above-and-beyond contributions. Team Members of the Month get a bonus, a SWC jacket, and rights to the coveted reserved parking spots. The news is shared with the company along with bios on what makes these employees so outstanding. And even though we are a team through and through, bragging rights is another fun advantage of this recognition.
We also stay connected through our Sharepoint intranet, dubbed “Orange Spot” by the team. Oftentimes, clients share positive feedback about an SWC consultant who has been working closely with them, and this news is shared with the team. Team newsletters also highlight employees’ contributions and accomplishments, whether they’ve completed a new certification, promotions or garnered rave reviews from a client. Orange Spot is also a place where we stay connected to things happening outside of work, like who is having a baby girl or how to join the company’s summer softball team.
If you’ve looked at any of our social media lately, you’ll notice that SWC likes to show its appreciation through food. There is always an abundance of free food and drinks to ensure the staff never goes hungry. Employees are rewarded for a job well done with team lunches, happy hours and group outings. Just recently, the HR team went indoor skydiving while others were treated to a spa day.
SWC also has bonus plans that financially reward employees for their contributions. Whether it’s for outstanding work, a referral that becomes a new hire, or discretionary annual performance bonuses, SWC never takes for granted the extra hours, time and effort employees put into their work.
