Ask SWC: What Are Your Thoughts on Dreamforce 2013?
In this episode of ‘Ask SWC,’ our CRM Solutions leader, Elliott Baretz discusses his thoughts on Dreamforce 2013. Dreamforce is Salesforce’s annual user and developer conference. Watch our video to learn more about the biggest cloud computing event of the year and SWC’s partnership with Salesforce.
Salesforce is a cloud based Customer Relationship Management (CRM) solution that helps companies sell, service, market and succeed by giving them the ability to connect with customers and close deals faster. Dreamforce 2013 drew over 100,000 people this year, increasing San Francisco’s population by 15% – which was pretty amazing. I wanted to take this blog as an opportunity to share some of the information I learned at the event and some of the things that I found interesting and am excited about.
The first thing is Pardot, a marketing automation platform that helps bridge the gap between sales and marketing through powerful and targeted email campaigns that simplify lead generation and management. The tool’s ability to do Business to Business (B2B) marketing, scripting and automate B2B initiatives based on actions and scoring for prospects is very interesting.
Next is Journey Builder, an application that provides real-time automated and personalized customer campaigns to large scale audiences. As part of the ExactTarget suite, Journey Builder’s ability to leverage Salesforce to put together very sophisticated and elaborate marketing campaigns based on actions and sequences is quite impressive. One of the examples from the conference was how Ford leverages the product. When a vehicle owner hits a certain mileage, the platform alerts ExactTarget, which then triggers an email to the owner about maintenance or services that should be scheduled at that time. This is a great example of a cross sell or upsell.
It was also very exciting to learn more about the social media aspects of ExactTarget, Radian6 and Buddy Media. These are some tremendous platforms and great products that integrate into Salesforce for state-of-the-art reporting and analytic capabilities.
