SWC’s Beers With Brad – Technology, Security And Privacy
Another SWC episode of Beers with Brad aired on Friday, April 26th at Binny’s Beverage Depot South Loop store in Chicago. Beers with Brad is a live web show airing on select Fridays at 4 p.m. (CST). Watch this episode to join in the discussion of technology, security and privacy. Is technology invading our privacy? Tune in to find out!
Roger Adamson, Beer and Spirits Specialist at Binny’s Beverage Depot in Willowbrook joined us for another episode. Roger brought along three beers that were sampled on the show. They were the Big Daddy IPA and the Prohibition Ale both from San Francisco Speakeasy Ales and Lagers and the Sculpin IPA from Ballast Point Brewing Company. Roger recommended pairing an IPA with a salad or seafood and the Prohibition Ale with barbeque or ribs. Speakeasy Brewing Company will be hitting the shelves this week at all Binny’s locations and Ballast Point Brewing Company will be hosting a party at Binny’s South Loop location on May 8th from 5-8 p.m. to celebrate.
Todd Wickens, Engagement Manager for CRM Solutions at SWC and Sarah Knight, Associate at Seyfarth Shaw LLP, joined Brad Ellison on this past week’s episode to discuss technology and security following recent events related to the explosion at the Boston Marathon. One topic discussed was New York City’s partnership with Microsoft to create a camera system that alarms and notifies authorities of bags that are unattended and criminals that are in the city through facial recognition software. Chicago has also installed a similar technology system within trains and heavily populated areas. Many believe that these cameras are invading privacy, while others hold opposing views. Watch this episode of Beers with Brad to determine if technology is keeping us safe or invading our privacy.
