This interactive show gives viewers the ability to tweet in questions about various technologies and get them answered on the show! On Friday’s Beers with Brad, Brad Ellison and his guests discussed Big Data. Watch this week’s episode of Beers with Brad to learn more about the privacy vs. convenience of Big Data.
Roger Adamson, Beer and Spirits Specialist at Binny’s Beverage Depot in Willowbrook, joined Brad for another show! The three beers Roger sampled on the show were the Dortmunder Gold and Rye of Tiger from Great Lakes Brewing Company and Weihenstephaner Hefe Weiss Dunkel from Bayerische Staatsbrauerei Weihenstephan all the way in Germany. According to Roger, the Dortmunder Gold is a great beer to drink anytime since its light and has a very moderate hop level. If you like hops, Rye of the Tiger is the beer for you. Roger stated, “If you love hops and being adventurous, you will love this beer.” Finally, the Weihenstephaner Hefe Weiss Dunkel is a great beer to pair with a burger and any dinner time meal.
After the beer talk, Brad and his guests discussed the topic of Big Data while many tweeted in their questions. Joining Brad for this topic was Jeremy Alt, IT consultant at SWC, Katie Mowery, Account Manager and Digital Marketing Specialist at Tech Image and Suzie Saxman, attorney at Seyfarth Shaw LLP. Brad and his guests discussed the various levels of Big Data and how it can impact many. Suzie explained that the information we release on social media sites is public access, so we need to be aware of the information we post. Katie described how Big Data helps marketers and consumers and many people need to be more aware of what they are “opting into.” Viewers tweeted in their questions during the show, some that were answered included: “What data should you never divulge online?” “What are the benefits of Big Data?” and “Are companies able to take all of our information?”
