SWC Technology Survey Uncovers Midmarket IT Trends

October 29, 2009   //   SWC Technology Partners

Today we released the results of the first in a series of SWC Technology Surveys. We decided to launch this survey campaign because it seems that the majority of technology trend data focuses on global enterprises, leaving the SMB market somewhat overlooked. Our surveys will be designed to uncover data that is helpful and pertinent to small and midsize businesses as they make technology decisions.

170 of our customer and industry partners took part in the first survey (you can read about the survey results here), and the findings were noteworthy. The survey uncovered the top IT priority for SMBs (security) as well as the lowest (proprietary systems); which project delivers the biggest ROI (virtualization) and the least ROI (proprietary systems, again); and a potential weakness among respondents (40 percent of whom say they are absolutely dependent on a single person for his or her systems knowledge and expertise).

Our survey results generated interest among our respondents and the media, including a write-up on the front page of eWeek and an article in CIOZone.

Our next survey will be conducted in early 2010 and we encourage you to take part. We promise to keep the surveys succinct so you can fill it out quickly. Everyone who completes a survey will receive a copy of the results and be entered to win a gift card valued at $200.
