SWC Technology Partners Celebrates 35 Years of Excellence Delivering IT Solutions to Chicagoland Mid-Market Organizations
As technology has evolved, so has SWC Technology Partners. In 1980, the firm opened its doors as Subject, Wills & Company, providing innovative and practical technology solutions to small and medium-sized businesses. The firm weathered the ups and downs of a highly competitive and changing industry that consumed many of its competitors.
Now more than 35 years later, SWC has become an award-wining and well-known Chicagoland provider of technology solutions that optimize productivity, strengthen customer relationships, enhance data sharing and drive profitability. SWC’s ever-expanding full-service IT offerings stem from four core solutions: software solutions, managed services, infrastructure solutions, and digital marketing. Clients appreciate that they can work with one partner to create a unified strategy across IT and digital marketing.
“When you take into consideration the ever-evolving nature of technology, not to mention external factors like the economy, we consider it a great accomplishment to celebrate 35 years as an IT solutions provider. There aren’t many others who can claim that longevity. We owe a great deal of our success and staying power to our talented and passionate staff.”

More than 160 full-time, local employees currently make up SWC, which has recently expanded into a new Chicago office on 33 West Monroe Street in order to better serve its growing clientele.
Employee satisfaction is a top priority at SWC, and it shows. This year the company was named a Crain’s Chicago Business Best Places to Work for the fourth consecutive year, as well as one of Chicago’s Best and Brightest Company to Work For for the seventh consecutive year.
Hundreds of clients have worked with SWC for more than five years, with a majority of clients sourcing multiple solutions. Since 2002, SWC’s client base and revenue has quadrupled, earning SWC a spot on the Inc. 500 | 5000 list. SWC’s managed IT services practice also continues to flourish, accounting for more than a quarter of the firm’s revenue and ranking among the world’s top 100 Managed Services Providers (MSPs) on the MSPmentor’s annual list.
“Thirty five years and we’ve only just begun to scratch the surface with what we can do with technology,” said Bob Knott. “It’s an exciting time for us, our partners and our talented employees.”
