SWC Attains 9 Microsoft Core Competencies

Oak Brook, IL | May 2, 2010 – SWC Technology Partners, a provider of IT solutions to small and mid-size businesses and a preeminent Microsoft solution provider in the Midwest District, has earned Microsoft core competency certification in two additional areas, bringing the total number of competencies it holds to nine.

In the Microsoft Partner Program, competencies are a recognized level of expertise within a given area and are earned based on customer references, individual certifications, or development of tested, certified software based on Microsoft technologies. Each is designed around a specific group of solutions and has a unique set of requirements. Microsoft recognizes a total of 19 core competencies.

Earning even one core competency is a significant achievement for a Microsoft partner, and by attaining nine, SWC demonstrates an atypical breadth of proficiency. SWC’s two newest core competencies are:

  • Systems Management– Previously known as the Advanced Infrastructure Solutions competency, this involves the expert delivery of data center and desktop solutions that help customers maximize their IT investments.
  • Networking Infrastructure Solutions – Requires proven expertise in the design, deployment, and customization of networking infrastructure solutions using Windows Server and Windows Essential Server Solutions technologies.
  • SWC has already achieved core competency certification in seven additional areas:

  • Service-Oriented Architecture and Business Process
  • Data Management Solutions
  • Information Worker Solutions
  • Microsoft Business Solutions
  • Custom Development Solutions
  • Business Intelligence
  • Unified Communications Solutions

SWC also has earned Microsoft’s Small Business Specialist designation for partners experienced in the design, deployment, and customization of small-business solutions using Microsoft technologies.
