Bob Knott is President of SWC Technology Partners. In 2002 Bob joined SWC as COO and in 2005 led a management buyout of the company from its founders. Since joining the company, Bob has transformed SWC into a leading provider of information technology solutions designed to meet the needs of mid-market organizations. Since 2002, SWC has quadrupled its customer base and workforce and has become one of the best-known companies of its kind.
SWC’s wide array of IT services provides customers with a strategic and long-term technology solutions partner, capable of managing complex, multi-disciplinary engagements – a major advantage for mid-sized organizations with limited in-house IT resources. SWC’s solution offerings have helped attract a broad range of distinguished customers and numerous industry awards and recognitions, including ranking among the top managed services providers in the world on the MSPmentor list and making the Inc. 500 | 5000 list of the Fastest Growing Companies in the U.S.
SWC has also received external recognition and various awards for its corporate culture over the years, including Crain’s Chicago Business’ Best Places to Work; inclusion in Chicago’s 101 Best and Brightest Companies to Work For list and National Best and Brightest Companies to Work For list; Brill Street’s Top 50 Chicago Generation Y Employers list; and the Greater Oak Brook Chamber of Commerce Work Hard Play Hard Award for outstanding leadership in encouraging and promoting high work performance in a happy, healthy and fun atmosphere.
Under Knott’s leadership, SWC has also adopted the Alain Locke Charter School in an underserved Chicago neighborhood in an ongoing project involving both rebuilding the aging technology infrastructure and running a Robotics Club to interest students in technology and engineering. SWC was proud to receive the ComputerWorld Honors Award for its community service efforts. This award recognizes organizations that have used Information Technology to change the world for the better.
Before joining SWC, Bob co-founded Advanced Information Solutions (AIS), an IT consultancy focused on delivering application development services to mid-market clients. Bob grew AIS into a leading provider of Microsoft-based business solutions. After e-business consulting firm Metamor Technologies acquired AIS in 1998, Bob served as Vice President and led marketing, sales and practice development initiatives.
Bob is actively involved in many professional organizations, including the Young Presidents’ Organization and is a board member for the Oak Brook Chamber of Commerce.
